World Championship Day 4 Evening Session Preview

Two crowd favourites feature in the evening session, so should be exciting.

First game is between two fairly evenly matched players, Luke Humphries and Adam Hunt. Humphries has played in more tour events than his opponent and does have some big stage experience. Hunt had to go through the UK qualifiers to get here, but that is no mean feat. This game will be about who can hold their nerve and I can see this going either way.

Next is Matthew Edgar v Darius Labanauskas of Lithuania. Edgar has certainly improved this year and made the last 32 of the UK Open.Labanauskas has had BDO World Championship experience and has been around for a while, so should be quite comfortable on stage. He has also won a tournament this year, which may just give him that edge. Edgar is a quality player so a tough one to call, but I think experience may just see Labanuaskas over the line

Third up sees improving player Ross Smith against veteran and crowd favourite Paul Lim. Lim is famously remembered for his 9 dart finish at the 1990 World Championship. He got the crowd going again last year where he almost completed the feat for a second time, only to see his 9th dart hit the wire of the double 12. Lim has a wealth of experience and usually puts in one very good game during the World Championship, and will need to do this against Smith who has been playing very well on the Tour this year.

The final match sees another crowd favourite,Peter Wright (pic), take on the Spaniard Toni Alcinas.Alcinas had a comfortable first round, but this is the next level.Wright has blown hot and cold this year. At times, unbeatable, but other times, out of sorts. He is experienced enough to make sure he is well prepared and he should come through, although Alcinas is good enough to run him close.
